Isolation

My home is my refuge and my prison
No one comes here any more
In or out has no difference
The outside world a rear vision

Here emptiness echoes from these walls
I sit here alone unnoticed
These days I know too well
As every day is exactly the same

Having a disability isolates me
But it’s the company I seek, not pity
On and on each day passes by
Without a living soul in sight

I know it’s best to expect nothing
Then when nothing comes here
There’s not much of a letdown
I’d known it all along

  1. Thank you for your visit dear Jude…. Always lovely to hear from you, and so pleased you dropped by today… Your poem a poignant write and so pleased to read in your comments it’s only fiction…
I hope you are keeping well, in these strange and trying times my friend…
Sending thoughts your way and thank you for our long lasting friendship over the airwaves and miles from those early days of live spaces…

// Nicki

You write so well Jude, It feels good to read your poems, Most often I forget to go around to you all my friends but it is mostly due to lack of time .. I hope your poem is not about yourself that you feel isolated. ..but if it is about you then I hope everything gets better .. lots of hugs from Sweden .. // Nicki
