The Storm

Grandma

Grandma

Looking out through misty windows
Brings back memories of yesteryear
I’m thinking of memories I’d once hid
I’m remembering Grandma and where she once stood

I’m the heir to Grandma’s hope chest
It’s not just a piece of furniture to me
It’s a lifetime of her most treasured items
Now handed down to share

Touching items from her jewellery box
Handed down and now mine
Looking at the gems she once held dear
I’ll wear the jewels once belonging her

I’ll treasure everything she left
Grandma I’ll always love you
I’ll remember all the special times
You’ll never ever be forgotten

Grandpop

You’re a real gentleman
As sprightly as you’d get
You’re as deaf as a post
Never hearing the spinning wheels outside

You’ve been the driving force to succeed
I still ride every ride to win
I’ve kept my eye on the goal
You’ve supported my every trip

You’d take the wheel when needed
You’d steer me in the right direction
You’d drive along the road with me
Helping me to map out my direction

Grandpop you’ve done it all with a cheeky smile
That grinned from ear to ear
You’d always had me laughing until I was rolling on the floor
Thanks for making my journey feel complete

THE LIGHT

When love lights the way

You’re able to see your true path

Love leads to a brighter tomorrow

You’ll leave any darkness behind

Nothing can enter a locked door

Never stand alone in an unlit porch

If you leave your door open

Love will find a way in

Love is the divine light

And like every shining star

On a starry moonlit night

Romantic skies ignite many hearts

For those who truly believe

Love and light will surround you

And whatever route you may take

Love is the key to finding happiness

You believed in the sun

Written by Lady Jude

You believed in the sun

You’ve always believed in the sun
Whenever I felt lost in my stormy weather
My soul blinded by dark shadows
Your love always brought me warmth

Your heart believed in true love
My heart had only known sadness
You caught me whenever I began to fall
You’ve helped me to stand tall once more

You taught me to see the sunlight again
With wisdom only a wise man would know
You’ve led me away from the storm
Until I found the light within

With your love my days became less cold
My heart began to melt into yours
You brought the light back into my darkest hours
I’m blessed to have you here by my side
