A Journal of Poetry / Windows Live Survivor

Written by Lady Jude

He arrived with sadness in his heart
A wee unwanted terrier dog
No one had come to claim him at the dog pound
They were ready to have him put down

So we made a claim and named him Lucky
Because he came so close to his own death
We nursed his sad broken spirit
Quickly Lucky became our faithful companion

In time we all received his cold nose kisses
Being faithful. loyal and loving unconditionally
He was the best dog our family knew
Lucky you were a champion

The simple pleasure of having a dog as a true friend is something that only a dog lover can appreciate. They give unconditional love and in return, they have asked for very little. Shelter, food and a pat on the pack every now and then is all that dogs have asked for. Dogs are truly a mans (and woman’s!) best friend!

the bond we have with, if i may say, our animals, as that they are never ours.. they adopt us… will far surpass anything we could ever dream of having with a human.. the word ‘unconditional’ it impossible for the human mind to attain or understand when it comes to Love..we can get close but never like that of a pet and its owner. there is that ‘something’ that the human mind will not let go of in order to get into the higher ‘plane’ where what is spoken no longer matters but what is done that does.

Dear Lady Jude, Though it takes an act of kindness to save a pet, it is the pet that saves a part of us. As ever be well
